Leeuwarden - 17/11/2007 - On November 16th Katie Melua toppled the first of 3.671.465 dominoes,
unfortunately not enough to break our world record of 4.079.381
dominoes. During eight weeks about 85 builders set up an incredible
domino show of 4.5 million dominoes. The theme of this year's show was
'Falling into Life' and the several projects explained different aspects
of life. During the live TV Show the dominoes toppled for almost two
hours.
The four builders' challenges caused some exciting moments during the show. In the first challenge called Birth, two builders had to place dominoes on a balance shaped like a stork bringing a baby. Unfortunately it was not a successfull challenge. The second builders challenge, Puberty, toppled 100.000 dominoes just like the great third challenge, Midlife Crisis. The final challenge, Dead or Alive, determined if the record would be broken, because the field contained 400.000 dominoes. Although it was close, we did not managed to break the record set in 2006.
Still it was an exciting show with lots of beautiful domino fields and tricks. Check our website soon because a photo gallery of the great show will be available within a few days.
