Leeuwarden - 26/09/2007 - Singer and TV-host Gerard Joling has placed the first of 4.5 million dominoes kicking-off Domino Day 2007 in an attempt to break the world record domino toppling. The all-evening spectacular live show will air in 12 countries coming November 16th.
Domino Day 2007 is as well a nerve breaking world record challenge as a creative television show in which domino is guaranteed to be entertainment, a form of art, teamwork and a huge challenge. The 87 builders from 11 different countries have been selected to contribute to the event, which has officially been categorized as top sport. Starting September 26th, the builders will be placing 4,5 million dominoes.
The Dutch international renowned singer and TV-host Gerard Joling has started the event by placing the first domino accompanied by Robin Paul Weijers and our team of domino professionals. The first domino is, especially for this event, a unique one. A domino fully made of gold, exclusively melted and inscripted for Domino Day 2007.
Domino Day 2007 will be an inspiring show in which the theme Falling into Life is central: music and domino will create visual and musical expression to various aspects of life.
