Domino Day is big, bigger and biggest. Every year, new records are broken. In 2006, 85 million people watched Domino Day on television. Broadcasted live in many countries, and also transmitted semi-live or on a later date in several other countries, this domino television programme is a very large production endeavour, in co-operation with the production company Endemol Nederland b.v.
To realize such a big event, a lot of things have to fall into the right place. To capture the event on television 24 cameras, 103 microphones, 450 lamps and 28 km cable are needed. During the last week before the broadcast, 400 persons work full force to make the show happening.
In 2006, 90 domino builders from 13 nationalities built Domino Day on a perfect flat floor of 9.500 square meters. To set up the 4.4 million dominoes, our professional crew of 15 team members headed by Mr. Domino, Robin Weijers, coaches the builders.
Previous programmes were, amongst others, broadcasted in Germany, France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Spain, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, China and the United States.
