Winner of Open Championships Domino Building starts Domino Day 2009
On 7 November Mr.Domino organizes the Open Championships Domino Building. The winner of the Domino Speed Building competition wins a V.I.P. arrangement for 2 persons and gets the honour to topple the first domino in the live show of Domino Day 2009!
During the Open Championships domino building, 24 people compete in two disciplines, namely: Domino Speed Building and Domino Tower Building in the studio in Woerden. The other contestants get a second chance in the category Domino Tower Building to also win a V.I.P. arrangement for 2 persons and be present during the live show in the V.I.P. studio of Domino Day on November the 13th.
Mr. Domino Robin Paul Weijers says that Domino Building is a grand competitive sport with this year the ultimate price. “It is great that domino fans get the chance to show who is the fastest and best domino builder. That’s why we are glad to be able to organize these open championships. And the price is fantastic, because it’s a dream come true for many to have the opportunity to start Domino Day.”
The disciplines:
In the Domino Speed Building contest we look for the domino builder who can set up most dominoes in a line within 2 minutes without help of any tools. Of course, this domino line should be built in such a way that it can completely topple using the domino effect. The contestants will decide in an exciting competition who is the very best.
During Domino Tower Building the object is to build the highest possible domino tower. A domino tower is built in layers. Each layer consists of 2 dominoes.
